Mr Edmund
A brand-new stage adaptation for children who dream and adults who have forgotten how to.
Tammy lives with her Mum and her little brother Sam, in one of the poorest parts of town. To make ends meet, her Mum rents out rooms in their house to anyone who has no home of their own. Mrs Williams works very hard and gets lonely sometimes too. Tammy worries about her and wants her to be happy again. Tammy dreams of being a lawyer, so she can help people like her Mum and her friends. But her Mum says people like them don’t become lawyers. Whenever Tammy talks about becoming a lawyer, it makes her Mum angry, so she keeps it a secret.
Sam says he wants to be an artist, but he also says the old lady down the road is a vampire, so Tammy tries to ignore him. Sam's real dream is to have a father. One day, a new house guest arrives and things begin to change.
Mr. Edmund is a curiously dressed man, with a warm smile, a sparkle in his eyes and a strange looking bag. Sam thinks he’s a spy. But Tammy likes Mr Edmund and she soon tells him about her dream. He believes in Tammy and her dream because he has one of his own.
Together with their friends, Tammy and Sam set out to make Mr Edmund's dream come true. Tammy hopes, one day Mr Edmund will help her achieve her dream. Perhaps he can help Sam and her Mum too...
Based on the Australian Children's Television Foundation’s film, ‘Mister Edmund’, written by Steve J. Spears.

“Mrs Williams, the most important, the very best thing I can do in my life, would be to fill you children’s heads with silly ideas.”
